I was beyond excited for this part. Endings are my favorite, especially those that are crunchy and imperfect. It also becomes so much easier for me to understand the scene as soon as we block it, from both a memorization and understanding perspective. I know that’s probably not a good thing, obviously I do the work prior to the blocking and I understand what’s happening, but weighing in everyone’s ideas and exchanging energy makes everything so much easier for me.

For example, while I was memorizing and working through this “opening of the ending monologue” at home, I was so nervous about it! It’s quite a large piece of text and there is so much action and emotion present in it! I was worried that at the first rehearsal I wouldn’t be able to access the things that I had worked on. But it was completely fine. Ben made a joke about it right before we started and I immediately felt better. Was it perfect? By absolutely no means. But I think it just proves to me that I can do it. I just need to let it be easy and not overworry about it prior to actually doing the thing.

At the end of today’s rehearsal Marc and I discussed playing consonants and we went over a diagram of how to map out consonants and noises! We played the different noises like instruments and discussed what the different markings mean and how they could be useful in my script. I can’t wait to incorporate this into my warm ups and prep!

Today’s rehearsal was spent table reading and then blocking the final scene in the show!
