Today was our first real group accent session for all of the folks that are pursuing the RP accent. I had a lot of fun today playing around with vocal posture. I always think that accent sessions are very silly and are just meant to be enjoyed. I had fun with this one as I usually do. Some of my key notes from today focused around my oral posture. I loved the pinky between the teeth exercise. I feel like that fixed a big spacial issue that I had going on and definitely made the overall sound of the accent sound a lot more posh and in the right world. I also tried to understand the eh-oh sound that comes out in words like phone. There is an interesting sliding noise that happens there that is new to me. I look forward to working more on that funny little noise and on this accent as a whole — It’s quite fun!
