We continued to work through the opening of act two today! One thing I think that I completely went wrong with today was my volume and tonality. I think the scene starting off with a more sweet/sincere moment between Margot and Maxine puts me into a tonality that is in the first circle of attention! I need to remember to avoid wanting to make my tone small in moments like those! I know Rob can hear me and I obviously want them to, but (more importantly,) I need the audience members sitting in the back of Klein Theatre to hear me!
I also have been trying to develop a more productive warm up routine. I have been trying to stretch out both my voice and body fully before each rehearsal. I think it creates a much more productive environment to make things happen! It also makes the “letting go” aspect that I’m worried about so much easier! Building a truthfully strong routine is going to take a bit more time and lots of trial and error but I am enjoying working on it! I always love warm ups but I think building a longer and more precise routine is exactly what I have been needing!
