August 27

I started today’s rehearsal by going over the fight choreography with Jonah, the stage managers, and Marc. We are trying to make it feel as much like a “real” fight call as we can! I really like this order of operations. I appreciate the opportunity to have a moment with Jonah where we get to check in and make sure that everything with the fight is going okay! It’s nice to just have a moment to talk through everything and make sure everything is just as it should be, check for injuries, and work through moments that have gone awry. So far, it has been extremely helpful for both of us.

After we worked through the fight call. We ran the scene a few times and took recordings for our lighting designer, Cat. This made me feel so nervous. No one outside of our small circle has seen this scene before and it means a lot to me. However, the recording was completely chill! My main goals going forward for this scene are to make as much vocal noise throughout it as possible. I think no matter how much noise I make it will never be enough. I’d rather have Marc tell me to shut up then to have him tell me to make more noise after today. So, next time we run this scene, I think it will be on Saturday, I want to make sure to apply that goal!
